“There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance” (Luke 15:7 NASB).
To be carried on the shoulders of Jesus, what a blessing!
Evangelism is the act of sharing or announcing the good news of salvation (Matt 28:18-20). There are different levels of evangelism: (a) announcing, (b) reproving and correcting false teachings about the gospel within the church and outside the church (2 Tim 2:14-26), (c) rejecting false teachings in words and in actions (Rom 16:17-18).
We share the gospel of Jesus, because today, no one can be saved without obeying the gospel (Acts 4:12). The Apostles and the early disciples shared the Gospel with the world, because they were commanded to, they desired to, and because there was a need (Matt 28:18-20, Acts 8:4).
1. Evangelism takes love – pray to develop more love for souls (John 3:16). Share the love of Jesus for souls. Be uncomfortable about sin.
2.Evangelism takes correct knowledge & baptism (Acts 18:24-28; 19:1-7):
3. Evangelism takes courage – pray for courage (Acts 4:29)
4. Evangelism takes leadership with experience and desire – take time to learn and practice to become a teacher & a leader (Acts 1:21-23, 1 Tim 2:1-2). 5. Evangelism can be through direct (Acts 2:14) and indirect (Acts 2:46-47) means, but it should always be intentional (Acts 8:4).
